Dr Teo Ho Pin
Dr Teo Ho Pin is the Senior Adviser to the Managed Services division of Surbana Jurong Pte Ltd and Independent Director of Tiong Seng Holdings Ltd. He is also an Adjunct Professor to the National University of Singapore.
Dr Teo was the Mayor of the North West District in Singapore (2001 to 2020) and a Member of Parliament for Bukit Panjang Constituency (1996 to 2020). As Mayor, he was responsible for implementing Community Development Programmes for 900,000 residents living in the North West District. He has been involved in Community Development work for more than 30 years.
Dr Teo was also the Chairman of the Holland-Bukit Panjang Town Council, and the Co-ordinating Chairman of 15 PAP Town Councils in Singapore taking charge of township management for about 1 million public housing flats. Dr Teo graduated with a Bachelor of Science (Building) from the National University of Singapore in 1985. Upon graduation, he joined the National University of Singapore as a teaching staff. Thereafter, he pursued his Master and Doctorate degrees at Heriot Watt University (UK).
In 1991, Dr Teo was seconded to be the Chief Executive Officer of Jurong Town Council. He was responsible for the management of over 40,000 units of public housing flats. Subsequently, he was elected as a Member of Parliament for Sembawang Group Representation Constituency in 1997. Since then, Dr Teo had chaired various Government Parliamentary Committees in National Development, Environment and Water Resources, Home affairs, Law and Foreign affairs.
